We are thrilled to announce that Elizabeth Spencer will be joining us as the new Director of The Literature Centre.

Elizabeth will commence the role on 11 October, working closely with the team to understand the opportunities within the organisation to grow, and will continue to support and nurture the importance of children’s literature in Western Australia, and beyond.

She joins us from her most recent role has been as Director of Library Services at The State Library of Western Australia, and joins the team with over 30 years of experience in roles across the arts, education and community sectors.

Chair of the Board, Dr. Julia Lawrinson said: "Elizabeth is a highly experienced, agile and compassionate leader. She emerged from an extremely competitive selection process as the best person to take The Literature Centre to its next stage of development."

Elizabeth Spencer said: "I am an enduring supporter of the work of the Centre, and I am so looking forward to working with the Centre’s team and the Board."
