WA primary students, your hero adventure starts now! The Healthy Heroes Quest 2025 is officially open!
Create a fruit or veggie hero in just ONE sentence. Give them powers inspired by eating 2 fruit and 5 veggies daily, and send them on a tiny adventure!
Here are some heroes already on the move:

🌀 Tomato Tornado spun the veggies into a swirling salad storm to save lunchtime from boredom.

🥦 Captain Broccoli puffed out his chest and lifted the lunchbox lid to save the squashed strawberries trapped inside.
How to Enter

Create a fruit or veggie hero in ONE imaginative sentence.

Include their powers inspired by healthy eating — your Go for 2 & 5 superpowers!

Send them on a tiny adventure — heroic, funny, whimsical, or magical.
✨ Every style of hero is welcome!
Submit your mini adventure to competitions@thelitcentre.org.au by Wednesday, 3 December. Include your full name, age, and school.

Thanks to generous funding from Healthway, we’re giving away three curated book packs, each worth $150, featuring the best of Australian children’s and YA literature.

2️⃣ Most Adventurous Hero – daring journeys and clever problem-solving
3️⃣ Best Use of “Go for 2 & 5” Powers – creative integration of fruit & veggie powers

Terms & Conditions of Entry
- The Healthy Heroes Quest 2025 (“Competition”) is open to all primary school students in Western Australia.
- Entry is free and each student may submit one entry only.
- Entries must be submitted by Wednesday, 3 December via email to competitions@thelitcentre.org.au
- Each entry must include:
- The student’s full name
- Age
- School name (if applicable)
- The one-sentence hero adventure
- Entries must be original and created by the student. Plagiarised entries will be disqualified.
- Judging: Entries will be judged on creativity, adventurousness, and/or creative use of Go for 2 & 5 powers. Judges’ decisions are final.
- Prizes:
- Three curated book packs, each valued at $150
- Categories: Most Creative Hero, Most Adventurous Hero, Best Use of “Go for 2 & 5” Powers
- Winners will be notified by email by Monday, 8 December.
- Entries may be published or shared on The Literature Centre and Healthway WA social media or marketing materials, with credit given to the student.
- By entering, participants agree to abide by these terms and conditions.
