We've partnered with Heathway to give young writers the chance to win some amazing vouchers to purchase a stack of books from our online bookshop! To enter we're asking young people to write a poem on the theme of healthy eating. Any type of poem is accepted but must be no more than 20 lines. Judges will be looking for the most creative entries linked to the theme of healthy eating. Winners will receive vouchers to spend at The Literature Centre's online bookshop

The winner will receive a $150 voucher, the runner-up will receive a $100 voucher and third place will receive a $50 voucher. The competition opens on September 28, 2022. The competition closes on November 2, 2022. The winners are notified on November 16 and announced on November 18, 2022. Download the printable Poem Entry form below to hand out to students. Full Terms & Conditions

  • One entry per child.
  • Poems to be no more than 20 lines and identifiably linked to the theme of healthy eating.
  • Poems submitted must be original works.
  • We are looking for poems that are creative and linked to healthy eating.
  • The winning entry will be awarded a $150 bookshop voucher to spend at The Literature Centre's online bookshop. Second place will be awarded a $100 bookshop voucher to spend at The Literature Centre's online bookshop and the third place will be awarded a $50 bookshop voucher to spend at The Literature Centre's online bookshop.
  • Employees of The Literature Centre, Foodbank, Healthway or their family members or anyone else connected in any way with the competition or helping to set up the competition shall not be permitted to enter the competition.
  • There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.
  • No cash alternative to the prizes will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
  • The winner will be selected by a panel of judges from The Literature Centre, Foodbank and Healthway, from entries that have correctly answered all questions and verified by Promoter and or its agents.
  • The promoter will notify the winner when and where the prize can be collected.
  • The winner will be notified by email and/or phone call by November 16 2022. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 2 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner
  • The promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into
  • By entering this competition, an entrant’s guardian is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  • The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by Australian law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.
  • The winner agrees to the use of his/her name and image in any publicity material. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current AUS data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent
  • The winner agrees that their entry (poem) has the potential to be used in future Literature Centre and/or Healthway collateral.
  • Entry into the competition will be deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions.
