Read on or see our special COVID relief offer - REDUCED FEES - for Literature Workshops HERE
We understand these are unprecedented times in schools and classrooms and our thoughts have been with you during the COVID-19 crisis.
We would like to offer the exciting opportunity for us to present a workshop in your school, given school excursions may not be possible at this time. Our Literature workshops will give your students the enjoyment of interacting with the original artwork and process material of a picture book, enhancing and broadening their visual literacy as well as working on their inferential comprehension. We have over 20 Australian picture book exhibitions in our collection and we'll discuss with you what will work best for your students.
For the remainder of 2020, in order to support you and your students, we are offering a reduced daily fee of $495.00* (normally $880.00).
The following TWO options are NOW available:
OPTION 1 - $495 for 3 classes per day (sessions 90 minutes, 1 class per session) Education Officer works with 3 separate classes. NORMALLY $880
OPTION 2 - $495 for 2 classes per day (sessions 2 hours, 1 class per session) Education Officer works with 2 separate classes. NORMALLY $880
This fee enables an Education Officer to work safely in your school, whether it be Department of Education, Independent or Catholic Education, working with one class at a time and adhering to COVID-19 safety measures from the Western Australian Department of Health.
* Please Note: An additional travel fee will apply for bookings outside the Perth metropolitan area.

Literature workshops are held in the Centre's galleries within an exhibition of original artwork from an Australian picture book. Each term, there are at least four picture books exhibited which may include drafts, research material, photographs, storyboards, dummy books, and preliminary artwork.
Workshops are interactive and will have students engrossed by explaining the illustrations and predicting the storyline. The Centre's Education Officers share the journey of the book from its beginning to the final book format: through questions, discussions, drama, writing, and drawing.
For primary schools workshops, The Literature Centre proudly acknowledges our long and rewarding partnership with Healthway, promoting the Go For 2&5 and the Foodbank Superhero Foods messages. Together they assist us with funding for our 'Go for 2 & 5' Primary School Literature Program throughout the year. Continuing in 2020, The Literature Centre will also proudly promote Superhero Foods to WA school children; giving them healthy bodies and strong minds. Find out more at www.superherofoodshq.org.au
