We are excited to again open our doors to the public on Wednesday 21 November, 4pm to 8pm, to welcome new visitors and close friends.  

This term we're also making your early Christmas shopping or work gift buying easy with original and print artwork for sale. PLUS... $5 OFF ALL BOOKS in our bookshop during the event ( except books already marked $5 that is! ).  See flyer below:

Shaun Tan’s CICADA Exhibition and Open Galleries

Wednesday 21 November, 4pm to 8pm

Gates open 3.30pm.  Free Entry!  

Don’t miss this opportunity to see the exhibition of Shaun Tan’s new book Cicada. This is the first exhibition of his original artwork and creative process including a small sculpture of Cicada, reference photographs and early sketches.  It will be leaving us at the end of this term.

While students and teachers visit our galleries for Literature Workshops, we're also keen to share these four Australian picture book exhibitions by award-winning creators with the public.

BOOKS AND ART FOR SALE - The Centre’s Bookshop will be open, selling Australian children’s and young adult books including the four books mentioned above.  Don't forget we'll have a pre-Christmas SPECIAL OFFER - $5 OFF ALL BOOKS in the Bookshop (except books marked $5)  A selection of original picture book artwork and prints, including many from Shaun Tan’s and Matt Ottley’s books, can also be purchased.  EFTPOS facilities available.

ALL AGES WELCOME! - Browse through our galleries and bookshop. Entry is free and there are no formal sessions or RSVP's required, simply visit our Centre when you can between 4pm and 8pm on the day.

LOCATION - The Literature Centre, Old Fremantle Prison Hospital.  Own entrance gate corner of Hampton Road and Knutsford Street, Fremantle.   Park at the Parry Street Carpark or try street parking nearby.   Limited grass are parking near our gate, accessible via the gravel carpark on the corner of Knutsford St and Hampton Rd, may also available.
