Join us at the free family fun day at the University of WA for The Sound of Picture Books - featuring Dumazi and the Big Yellow Lion and experience a picture book come to life before your eyes - and ears!
Illustrator and composer, Matt Ottley, and author and musician, Valanga Khoza, join West Australian Symphony Orchestra's string quintet and Yamaha's Alf Demasi for an event that is always a Festival highlight. This unique and engaging performance brings narration, live music, imagery, dance and demonstrations of music composition together to create a little magic. Matt and Valanga co-present the captivating story of Dumazi and the Big Yellow Lion while the musicians perform music synched to the illustrations from the book on a large screen. Audiences last year loved the energy and creative insight during these fabulous multi-modal presentations.
