Book Launch - Celebrate the Launch of Mr Bat Wants a Hat at The Literature Centre

Sunday 1 August, 10.30am to 12.00pm

You’re invited to celebrate the launch of the newly released picture book Mr Bat Wants a Hat by WA author Kitty Black and illustrator Laura Wood. Join us for a morning of picture book fun and catch Kitty as she talks to The Literature Centre's Education Officer and CBCA WA President, Natalya Hawrylak.

About the Book

Mr Bat is missing something. Something important. A HAT! He WANTS A HAT! Soon he finds the perfect pink hat with pretty roses and covered in GLITTER. But this hat belongs to someone else... Which doesn't bother him AT ALL. Or does it?

Meet author Kitty Black! Event includes themed morning tea and craft activities to keep both kids and adults entertained. Guaranteed to be a fun-filled morning for the whole family! 

Copies of the book will be available for sale (EFTPOS or Cash) with book signing by Kitty on the day.

Bring a Hat! We encourage you to take fashion styling from Mr Bat OR come dressed in YOUR favourite hat. There are prizes to be won.

Time: 10.30am to 12.00pm

Location: The LIterature Centre, corner Knutsford St and Hampton Road, Fremantle. We’re behind the limestone walls of the world heritage-listed Old Fremantle Prison. Access ONLY via our own pedestrian gate on the corner of Hampton Rd and Knutsford St. No access via the main prison entrance.

Parking: Free parking available on the Hampton Road grass near our gate or alternatively find a spot on nearby streets. Please check signs for restrictions.
