Come work with us

Published on Thursday, 23 March 2023 at 9:00:00 AM

We are seeking a First Nations teacher or AIEO or someone with experience working in communities to come work with us.

The Literature Centre is a not for profit arts organization based in Fremantle. We nurture the next generation of storytellers, working in schools and with families and communities to deliver creative learning inspired by the work of local and national authors and illustrators.

We have secured some funding to work in regional and remote communities to design culturally safe and relevant learning for First Nations students inspired by the work of creators of picture books and writing for children and young people. We are seeking a First Nations teacher or AIEO or someone with experience working in communities to work with us on designing this learning.

The position is the equivalent of 0.4 part-time over 9 months in 2023 and 2024 but we can be flexible with hours and make this an equivalent full-time position over a shorter period. It may suit someone looking for a short-term secondment or someone looking to work part-time with flexible hours. If you are based regionally we can work flexibly with you remotely.

If you would like to apply, all we require is one page telling us about yourself, your interest in creative learning, the skills and experience you believe you can bring, and a CV with your work history no later than 17 April to director@thelitcentre.org.au

If you are interested in finding out more about what we do, you can view our website and you can contact Elizabeth Spencer on 08 9430 6869 or at elizabeth.spencer@thelitcentre.org.au for any questions.
