TWO EXHIBITIONS TO CHOOSE FROM IN OUR 'LITTLE GALLERY':
Fox and Fine Feathers by Narelle Oliver
Publisher: Omnibus Books
We are honoured to exhibit the late Narelle Oliver's exquisite picture book, Fox and Fine Feathers.
"At the very edge of the forest was a fox. He sniffed the air and his ears twitched. He licked his muzzle with the thought of the forest ground birds."
This is Narelle Oliver at her very best: a wonderful evocation of an Australian forest and the dangers that face the Nightjar, the Lyrebird, the Coucal and the Pitta.
Suitable: Year 2 - Year 7
Our workshops are linked to the Literature Strand of the Australian Curriculum, in particular Responding to Literature.

The Viewer by Gary Crew and Shaun Tan
Publisher: Lothian Books
The Viewer tells of a boy whose obsession with interesting artefacts leads him to discover a strange box at a dump site. It proves to be an ancient chest full of optical devices. One is an intricate viewing device, which reveals images of significant historical ages, including the present and the future.
This was award-winning author Gary Crew's first collaboration with Shaun Tan, whose sophisticated and intriguing illustrations will hook your students into this fascinating world of the past and have them questioning their own place in history. Workshops will include a comparison between the first edition (1997) and the substantially changed new edition (2012).
Suitable: Year 6 - Year 12
Links to the Western Australian Curriculum: Literacy; Language, Visual Arts, History Knowledge and Understanding, and Critical and Creative Thinking.
