The Literature Centre's 'new look' TLC News brochure for Term 4 is now available!

From August, our preferred methods to distribute our quarterly newsletter is via email and social media.  Only a limited number will be sent to schools in WA.

Therefore, take a look at the attachment now (on the right) to read or print off our latest news.  Teachers and Librarians! You may also like to print a copy for colleagues or for your staffroom.  All content of course can be found on our website or please call 08 9430 6869 or email anytime.

If Incursions are a preference for your school, please contact us about our Literature Workshops using Travelling Picture Book Exhibitions.  We have over 25 Australia picture books, suitable for all year levels, which can be displayed and workshopped by our TLC Education Officers in schools (or libraries).   

This term, have a look at our Centre's Talented Young Writers' Programme.  Unique in a Australia, this programme nurtures a group of young writers, Years 6-12, by offering them full day workshops four times a year with a different Australian author, whilst also enabling them to meet and form friendships with other like-minded readers and writers. In Term 4, enrolled students from Perth and in 6 regional WA towns will be working with these exciting authors of Young Adult books: 

Julia Lawrinson (WA), AJ (Amanda) Betts (WA), Dianne Wolfer (WA), Lili Wilkinson (VIC) and James Roy (NSW)

Celebrate Reading National Conference - The Inside Story on Quality Australian Literature for Children will be held 27-28 October, 2017 at The Literature Centre. The amazing line-up of 8 presenting authors/illustrators includes: Jeannie Baker, Leigh Hobbs, Anna Fienberg, Mark Wilson, Gus Gordon, Meg McKinlay, Kyle Hughes-Odgers and Deborah Abela.  It's not too late to secure a place!  The session details of the Conference Programme have also been released so take a look at the flyer on our website or see the attachment to the right.
